UC
Berkeley's
Sexual
Harassment Advocacy and Peer Education
(SHAPE)
SHAPE
stands for Sexual Harassment/Assault Advocacy
and Peer Education. SHAPE
is a part of the Gender Equity Resource Center
on the UC Berkeley campus; it is a program that
was established to increase campus awareness about
sexual harassment and assault. SHAPE offers free
workshops for Cal students and the surrounding
campus community to promote open discussion about
the spectrum of sexual violence, and works toward
eradicating harassing behavior on the UCB campus.
SHAPE also serves as an advocacy and support group
in aiding students who have experienced sexual
harassment, sexual assault, rape, relationship
violence and/or stalking.
SHAPE
has three primary goals:
1. To increase campus awareness through education
and on-going programs
2. Dispel myths about sexual harassment and assault
3. To foster a climate which actively discourages
sexual harassment and assault
